Rockin' Riders

The Brook Hill Farm Rockin’ Riders Program is a program designed for people with physical and mental disabilities who are interested in riding horses and learning about horsemanship. As a Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) Member Center, we follow strict guidelines for safety, horse care, business and ethical standards. The Rockin’ Riders Program pairs participants with rescue horses to work towards independence, building confidence, developing riding skills and working towards life goals. There are many benefits that people can receive from riding a horse including the following:

      • Physical- head, neck and trunk control, builds muscle, respiration, balance, circulation, muscle tone, motor skills, coordination, etc.
      • Cognitive- sequencing, following instructions, task analysis, etc.
      • Emotional- confidence, socialization, patience, respect, etc.

Classes are taught by a Penny Hawes, a PATH certified therapeutic riding instructor, who has 30 years experience teaching.
